This past weekend Bunbury Music Festival took Cincinnati by storm (literally on the last day... there was a storm). Many ups, just a few downs (mainly the heat exhaustion and the walking around with a million pounds of camera gear strapped to me).
The ups of course were the bands I got to photograph. This was my 2nd year shooting Bunbury Music Festival (only the 2nd year for the festival itself) so I went in knowing what to expect -- a lot of people and sun that will melt your face off. You know what else melted my face off? Amazing bands. You can now proceed to look at photos of rockstars...
Tegan & Sara
Umm.. can we talk about Tegan's leggings? Wolves. Yes.
Delta Rae... HOLY CRAP. THOSE VOICES.
The Features. Nashville Indie Rock Gods.
Tokyo Police Club. Not from Tokyo, nor are they police. Just total effin' dance party.
The Bears of Blue River. So good. So nice. Look them up right now. RIGHT. NOW. The Mitchells. A family band. They are as awesome as they seem.
Black Owls. Local Cincinnati Glam Rock. And boy do they rock.
All bow down... for it is Cake.
And of course, John McCrea with his beloved vibraslap.
Divine Fits. Super group with Britt Daniel from Spoon and Dan Boeckner from Wolf Parade. These two can't go wrong.
The Mowglis. It was hard to control myself from dancing in the pit.
Belle & Sebastian. FINALLY. I have been waiting years to see them. And they played "I'm a cuckoo" while I was in the pit. Another one that I had to control myself from dancing... okay, I might have danced just a little bit.
